South Carolina Month-to-Month Rental Agreement

A South Carolina month-to-month rental agreement is a contract creating a lease that may be terminated by either the landlord or the tenant regardless of how long the lease has been in effect. Also known as a tenancy at will, month-to-month leases have most of the same terms as standard leases, and landlords may use a rental application to make sure a tenant is a good fit. But under a tenancy at will, either party may terminate the lease as long as the notice requirements are met.

Minimum Termination Period

The landlord or the tenant may terminate a month-to-month tenancy by a written notice given to the other at least thirty (30) days before the termination date specified in the notice.
